That was a beautiful story. The healing came to the students of course through prayer but also through the sisters willingness to love the students exactly where they were and stay with them in their sadness. So often as children and as adults we are told you "shouldn't" feel that way. They say something like, " Come on you should feel happy, what's wrong with you. Just turn lemons into lemonaide." It's so confusing and moronic. No I know they're just trying to help. But most people refuse to feel their own emotional pain and therfore don't want to be with others in their pain. Hence nobody gets healed. They want quick fixes like here's the diagnosis :sin. Your sin, the sin of others, family sin. The cure : Responsibility. Take responsibility for the sin and forgive. Go to confession, poof your healed. The diagnosis is corect the treatment is premature. As in premature forgiveness. Forgiveness takes time, the emotions need to be felt then reason can be brought on board and then one uses their free will to choose to regard or disregard reason. Of course the reason has to come from a well formed conscience. This process of forgiveness takes a very long time, it's a lot of hard work and very emotionally painful. Most people never take the journey but if taken it transforms you into a very alive, real and free person. Anyway I loved the story. The sisters were beautiful, heartfelt, prayerful, receptive women. I agree with the sister those hokey seventies gimmicks are "goofy".
